Squint/ Strabismus/ Crossed eyes

Misalignment of the visual axis of the two eyes is termed as squint or strabismus. It can lead to decreased vision in children, lazy eye or double vision in adults. It also leads to loss of binocularity or 3D vision in children if not corrected in time. In adults, it can lead to diplopia or double vision which can be quite distressing.

Complete evaluation of a squint will include assessment of binocularity, angle of squint in various eye positions, stereopsis, convergence and accommodation assessment, refraction, prism adaptation and prism trial if required.
