Nystagmus (eye shaking) and ocular motility disorders

Nystagmus or eyeball shaking can be due to either any abnormality in the eye structures by birth or due to any brain defect. Patients with nystagmus may have decreased vision, associated squint and may also adopt various head postures to improve their vision. There are many causes of nystagmus some of which may need treatment during early stages.

There are other ocular movement disorders that may be caused by either paralysis of eye muscles or due to any brain injury or tumours.
